About

Built Through Versatility

He started at six years old, shooting an air rifle at toy soldiers in his living room. Lithuania had just declared independence. There were no shooting ranges. There was just a boy, a rifle, and a target he made himself.

Thirty-six years later, Marius Kazanskis is a 11-time IPSC/IDPA Lithuanian Champion, 5 -time podium places at LT Nationals. Medal performances in four IPSC disciplines, IDPA & PCSL 2GUN. Not one discipline. Six. That is not versatility as a talking point. That is a career built on it.

Story

From First Shots To Six Disciplines

Sightmark

The Beginning

It was 1990. Lithuania had just declared independence, and civilian shooting ranges did not exist. Marius Kazanskis was six years old, and the family owned a single air rifle. His first targets were toy soldiers from his collection — small military figurines lined up across the floor of a modest Lithuanian home.

Those shots, fired without instruction or formal training, were the beginning of everything. He still remembers exactly how the rifle felt in his hands.

Finding the Sport

Marius began competing at 16 in Olympic Shooting Disciplines before discovering IPSC in 2009. He started in Handgun Production — the natural entry point for most competitors. But after a decade, he made a deliberate move into IDPA handgun, IPSC  PCC,  Rifle Semi-Auto Open & Shotgun. The transition paid off immediately, and the titles followed.

The Four-Discipline Achievement

What separates Marius from nearly every other competitive shooter is not any single title — it is the breadth. Winning an L3 medal requires performing at the highest level of domestic competition. Winning one in four different disciplines — each with its own firearm, its own technique, its own demands — requires something most competitors never develop: true adaptability.

Marius has done it in IPSC Handgun, PCC, Rifle and Shotgun, IDPA handgun & PCSL 2GUN. He is, by any measure, the most versatile competitive shooter in Lithuania.

The Next Challenge

His current ambition is to compete seriously in USA 3GUN — a format that does not yet exist in Europe at scale, and one that demands exactly what Marius has spent his career building: the ability to perform with multiple firearms in the same stage, switching platforms without hesitation. He trains with different guns weekly. He has already proven the capability internationally. The move to 3GUN is not a change of direction — it is a logical next step.

Competition-Proven Sightmark

Marius has been running Sightmark since 2017 — longer than most athletes on this team. In that time, he has put more than 30,000 rounds per year through the Mini Shot M-Spec across multiple platforms and disciplines. That is not a test. That is a long-term field record.

He runs the Mini Shot M-Spec as his primary reflex sight on his Benelli M2 Speed and Grand Power X-Calibur, and as a secondary sight on his Grand Power Stribog A3 and his .223 GP15 rifle. In other words — it is present in every discipline he competes in.

His own words say it better than any product description:

“I've shot over 30,000 rounds each year with the Mini Shot M-Spec. I use it in every competition because this product has a use case in every IPSC discipline. It is my favourite Sightmark product of all time.”
