Built Through Determination
At five years old, she picked up a .22 pistol for the first time. Ten plates on a table. She hit all of them β three times in a row. Her father never questioned whether she belonged on the range again.
Margaux Nycz has been proving people wrong ever since. Ten times French Champion in Handgun. Four consecutive years as Vice French Champion Overall β competing with the men. World Champion in Shotgun Modified. European Champion in Handgun 2023. She didn't grow into this sport gradually. She arrived, and she stayed.

From First Shots To World Titles
The Beginning
Margaux grew up watching her father leave for the range every Sunday. At five years old, she asked to come. He was surprised β a little girl wanting to shoot β but eventually he took her. She didn't just want to watch. She wanted to shoot. He handed her a .22, barely explained how to aim, and set her in front of ten plates. She hit every one. Three times in a row. From that Sunday forward, she was at the range every week.
The range became their place β a shared world between father and daughter, where nothing else existed except the target and the shot. Her first lesson was safety. Everything else followed from there.
Entering IPSC
Margaux began competing at 12 years old in 2009. As a young girl in a male-dominated sport, there were doubts β from others, never from her. Her parents backed her completely. The president of her shooting club pushed her to extract every ounce of her potential. She started in Production on her father's advice, believing it was the foundation she needed. After a decade, she moved to Standard, drawn by the speed and the feel of the .40 S&W. The transition came naturally.
Shotgun shooting became available in France in 2015. Margaux started in Standard, learned quickly, and moved to Modified as she prepared for the 2018 World Shoot. That decision paid off with a World Championship title on home soil β in France, in front of her people.
Growing Into a Champion
Her biggest early challenge was the rapid progression. Moving from obscurity to the spotlight at a young age, with no one to guide her through it. She had to learn to manage her emotions alone β and eventually learned to turn them into fuel. That process of self-management became one of her defining strengths as a competitor.
The 2026 European Title
The 2026 European Handgun Championship did not start the way Margaux had planned. An early mistake cost her valuable time β the kind of moment that ends podium runs for most competitors. She regrouped, reset her mind, and climbed back to her level. She won the match.
What It Takes
Self-discipline. Gratitude. And the willingness to test everything β because what works for one shooter may not work for another.

What It Takes
βTo start small and when receiving advice, listen to it β but test it out to see if it works for you.β
Competition-Proven Sightmark
Margaux has run the Sightmark Mini Shot M-Spec across both her competition platforms β handgun and shotgun β and went further than simply adopting the product. She tested it in three different positions on her shotgun before designing her own custom mounting plate to achieve the lowest possible dot position. That is not product use. That is product development in the field.
Her assessment of the Mini Shot M-Spec is precise and personal:
βThe frame disappears as you focus on the dot, making target acquisition almost instantaneous. Originally designed for handguns β I can confidently say it is also perfect for shotguns.β
βThe design suits all guns very well β it's not too big, not too small. Just perfect.β
